About Me
I have had many reasons to celebrate in my life, and all of them have reinforced my love for photography. My mom said that, when I was little, one of my favorite things to do was flip through the pictures in her wallet or look through albums of the family. There is just something about capturing a memory, the visual representation of a feeling, that is indescribable – and knowing that you can return to that memory for years to come and relive an entire experience through a single snapshot is even more amazing to me.

So in short, I’m a photo nerd. A shutter geek. I’m that girl, always stopping to take a picture on the side of the road because something is interesting, or pretty or won’t ever be that way again. I’m constantly snapping candid photos of my daughter, Caelyn (four years old and acutely aware of how photogenic she is), as she grows into her goofy brilliance at a pace that makes me dearly afraid of her teenage years. And in my downtime, which is rare these days, I’m cuddled up with my own archive of photographs, getting lost all over again in the happiness, excitement and love that has surrounded me in life. I love photography. I love my family. And thanks to God and and the overwhelming encouragement of those around me, I am blessed to be able to do one in support of the other.

About My Work
Some would say that photography is a stunning form of art form. Others, a photojournalistic medium of storytelling. I don’t think anyone would argue that a great photo can be both of those things. I’ve learned, both from personal experience and my professional education and practice, that almost nothing goes as planned all of the time – and there is a distinct joy in capturing the candid authenticity of each moment as it happens, as perfect or imperfect as it may be.

That thrill of the moment is what I love about photography and what I hope to capture for all of my clients, whether it’s an engagement shoot or a wedding, the birth of a child, a graduation or an editorial lifestyle session. Even a posed portrait or professional headshot is about so much more than great light when you have fun with it and capitalize on the energy and emotions that have driven you to document a certain milestone in the first place. The bottom line: photography is not a one-size-fits-all gig. Each session or event is as unique and, at times, unpredictable as the people around which it revolves, and that’s what fuels my passion. Because, as anyone who has ever been on the front end of a camera can attest, half the fun of taking pictures is the anticipation of seeing the end result – and it’s no different from the other side!
